Archery |
Archery
Campers get the chance during the camp week to participate in a
group archery session. Happy Hollow’s staff are trained to teach the
campers safety, proper shooting techniques, arrow retrieval, and other
archery skills. Each group will have in their possession a two way
emergency radio and first aid pack. All staff members are trained in
first aid and CPR.

Arts & Crafts |
Arts & Crafts
Happy Hollow’s arts & crafts program is ran by a staff member with at
least 3 years experience in teaching and knowledge of arts & crafts
projects. All campers can participate in this program along with other
children their age to complete projects that are age appropriate.

Cabin Life |
Cabin Life
All cabin groups consist of
no more than 8 campers of the same age to 2 adult staff member. Campers get the opportunity
to enjoy time with their bunk mates during cabin time. During this time
campers can write home, play cards, do arts & crafts projects, practice
their group skit for the campfire, learn new songs, and much, much
more. No camper at anytime is allowed to be in the cabin unsupervised
and alone.

Camping |
Camping
Restricted to campers age 11
years and up. Campers age 10 years and younger can participate in 'sleepouts'
only. Campouts are supervised by a minimum of two staff members per
eight campers and are restricted to camp property only. Staff are
trained to teach the campers basic skills in cooking, shelter building,
fire building, and no trace clean up. Each group will have in their
possession a two way emergency radio and first aid pack. All staff
members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Canoeing |
Canoeing
All campers can take part in canoeing on Happy Hollow’s lake. Campers
are required to wear an appropriate size certified life vest.
Instruction in safety skills, basic canoe strokes, and entering and
exiting the canoe are taught prior to participation. The lake is
guarded by certified lifeguards. Each group will have in their
possession a two way emergency radio and first aid pack. All staff
members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Challenge Course |
Challenge Course /
Low Ropes
The Challenge
Course is lead by all counselors who are trained in safety, equipment
management, and facilitating the course. All campers can participate in
this activity where they learn to accomplish each element as a group.
All elements are low to the ground. Each group will have in their
possession a two way emergency radio and a first aid pack. All staff
are trained in first aid and CPR.

Farm & Garden |
Farm & Garden
Happy Hollow’s farm
& garden program is designed to expose all campers to a variety of farm
animals such as pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, sometimes calves,
and a turkey. In the garden they are introduced to different varieties
of produce that might be grown in a typical home garden such as
potatoes, peas, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, etc. This program is lead
by a staff member with knowledge and teaching experience in farming and
gardening.

Fishing |
Fishing
All campers can enjoy a try at our fishing program. Most fishing is
done from the fishing pier or the banks of the dam. Some groups can
venture out in row boats after a mini clinic on fishing from a boat.
All campers are required to wear an appropriate size certified life vest
when on the fishing pier, in a boat, or near the water. This program is
lead by a staff member with knowledge and teaching experience in
fishing. Each group will have in their possession a two way emergency
radio and first aid pack. All staff members are trained in first aid
and CPR.

High Ropes |
High Ropes
Restricted to campers 11 years of age and older. Our staff is
trained through Experimental Resources Inc. on how to properly and
safely run the High Ropes area. Every participant is required to wear a
harness and a helmet before entering the course. Our staff teaches a
mini clinic on how to safely complete the course and every participant
is required to participate at some level, be it on the ground or in the
air. Each group will
have in their possession a two way emergency radio and first aid pack.
All staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Horseback Riding |
Horseback Riding
Happy Hollow’s
horseback riding program is offered to all campers. Camper’s ages 11
years and older can go on trail rides and those campers under age 11 can
do ring rides or pasture lead rides. All campers are required to wear a
helmet, long pants, and closed toed shoes when riding a horse. This
program is staffed by adults who have had at least 5 years of knowledge
and teaching in western style horseback riding. Campers will learn both
educational and fun things about horses themselves and how to groom and
ride a horse. Each group will have in their possession a two way
emergency radio and first aid pack. All staff are trained in first aid
and CPR.

Kayaking |
Kayaking
All campers can take part in kayaking on Happy Hollow’s lake. Campers
are required to wear an appropriate size certified life vest.
Instruction in safety skills, basic kayak strokes, and entering and
exiting the kayak are taught prior to participation and lead by a
certified staff member. The lake is guarded by certified lifeguards.
Each group will have in their possession a two way emergency radio and
first aid pack. All staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Mountain Biking |
Mountain Biking
This program is restricted to campers who are 11 years and older. The
program is lead by a staff member who has at least five years of
knowledge and experience in mountain bike riding and maintenance.
Campers will learn educational and fun basics of riding, safety, and
maintenance of a mountain bike. All campers are required to wear a
helmet, t-shirt/shorts, and closed toed shoes. Each group will have in
their possession a two way emergency radio and first aid pack. All
staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Outdoor / Nature |
Outdoor / Nature
Happy Hollow offers outdoor and nature activities that are both
educational and fun! All campers can participate and are
encouraged to get involved. Recent topics covered include tree
identification, aquatic life, animal adaptations, study of the food
chain, habitats, and others.

Special Themes |
Special Themes
Every Thursday afternoon
the camp staff puts on a special theme activity for all the campers.
Some of the themes for those Thursdays might be carnival day, pirate
day, the HHC 500, international games, Olympics, and many more. Then on
Thursday evening the campers will attend a closing campfire where their
group will perform a skit they have put together through the week.

Sports |
Sports / Athletics
Happy Hollow offers a variety of sporting activities from basketball to
volleyball to soccer, badminton, ping pong, Ultimate Frisbee, flag
football, and more. All activities are supervised by trained staff
so the kids have to worry about nothing but having fun! Each group
will have in their possession a two way emergency radio and first aid
pack. All staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.

Swimming |
Swimming
All swimming is done in Happy Hollow’s lake in a confined swim area
where certified lifeguards are present and on duty at all times.
Swimmers are given a swim ability test prior to being allowed in the
deep water. Swim lessons are given every Monday of the camp week.

first aid pack. All staff members are trained in first aid and CPR.
